For a few years in the early part of the 21st century, I made a living writing capsule-sized book reviews.
Okay, not "made a living." But it was fun, it paid for a few meals, and I still get a free book in the mail every month or so. Just the galley versions, and not always stuff I want to read, but free is free, right?
I started writing for The Houston Chronicle, and later wrote for Publishers Weekly, People, and USA Today. It's been ages, and all of those editors have since moved on, but I'm linking what I can easily Google here so that future generations will easily be able to answer the question: "What did Melanie think of Lolly Winston?" (answer: Lolly Winston rocks!)
